Our Heritage
Genesis of the Brand
Brand Story
AMORLOLA was founded by Kobe Barbasa as a tribute to heritage, perseverance, and the belief that meaningful things can be built from humble beginnings. Born and raised in the Philippines, with roots in the western islands of the Visayas, his earliest passions were shaped by sport, creativity, and the desire to create something of his own.
What began as sketches of football jerseys soon became drawings of garments he hoped to one day wear. On a small island where resources were limited, imagination became opportunity. It was an early lesson that when you believe in something deeply enough and are willing to work for it, a way forward can always be found.
At the heart of that journey was his grandmother, Salvacion—his Lola. Through her nurturing presence, unwavering support, and gifted hands, Kobe’s creativity was given room to grow. She transformed his early sketches into real garments using repurposed fabrics from her own wardrobe, proving that love, ingenuity, and effort can turn vision into reality.
Often, the finished pieces would be waiting in his bedroom, accompanied by a handwritten note: “Love, Lola.”
That spirit remains the foundation of AMORLOLA today: a brand rooted in heritage, shaped by intention, and built on the belief that with heart, discipline, and support, anything is possible.
