Genesis of the Brand

Amor, Lola is a lifestyle fashion brand founded on heritage and love. The brand was born after a former passion project was realized through ambition, visionary, and pure hustle. Our designs draw inspiration from and capture the quintessential old glamour style combined with contemporary fashion, embodying the New York Experience we describe as Classic and Timeless.

Based in Queens, New York where style is diverse, free-flowing, and perpetual, our products pay homage to the ethos of the brand: a true testament to what it's like to be Always New York.

Brand Story

Amor, Lola was founded by Kobe Barbasa. Born and raised in the Philippines, his roots run deep in the west islands of Visayas. His fascination with arts and design came at a young age and showed through his passion in football, film photography, and fashion. 

His adoration for fashion first started when he sketched jersey designs for his football team in his free time. Full of inspiration and curiosity, the young spirit wandered and stepped out of his comfort zone and started sketching clothes he wanted to wear. 

Despite the limited resources his small town offered, his Lola Salvacion instilled in him the confidence that nothing was impossible. Through her handiwork of love, Kobe’s designs turned into reality using cuts of upcycled fabrics from her 40s to 60s wardrobe.

The finished product would wait for Kobe in his bedroom, always accompanied by a handwritten note of “Love, Lola.”
